Business Analysis

This is a complex function that can range from the consultant brought in to advise on business strategy, to the specialist who works as part of a project team.

The Business Analyst is most comonly seen early on in the Project LIfecycle.

Reasons for starting projects can vary from one person's inspiration to a change in corporate strategy or regulatory requirements. Business needs and customer expectations can also force change on a business.

Whatever event triggers a proposal, it must be examined and evaluated before the neccessary investments can be sanctioned.

It is the Business Analyst who looks at both the idea and the business, to determine the feasibility and fit, of the available options.

The Analyst is also key in gathering and managing requirements when a project is commissioned.
